Zoey Kathleen Murray, 29, of Waynesboro, PA, left this world far too soon on Sunday, August 24, 2025, passing away unexpectedly at her home. Born on February 26, 1996, in Chambersburg, PA, Zoey was the beloved daughter of Amanda Lynn (Peck) Smiley of Chambersburg, PA, and her father, Jeremy Lewis Murray and stepmother, Shavonne Murray of Hagerstown, MD.
A 2012 graduate of Erie High School, Zoey poured her heart into her work as a certified medical assistant, most recently serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Wellspan Orthopedics, where her warmth and care touched the lives of her work family and patients alike.
Zoey’s greatest joy was being a devoted mother to her five cherished children: Jeremiah Murray and Ivy’onna Taylor of Waynesboro, PA; Messiah Webb and Ruquyyah Webb of Port Orange, FL; and Jaidlyn Fuss of Waynesboro, PA. She also held a special place in her heart for her stepdaughters, Yariah Webb of Carlisle, PA, and Jaiyana Webb of Port Orange, FL.
Zoey was always there, cheering loudly at Jeremiah’s sports games and beaming with pride at Ivy’s gymnastics and cheerleading performances. Herself a talented cheerleader with Hagerstown Heat, Zoey won numerous competitions and carried that spirited energy into every part of her life. Whether she was river floating, riding motorcycles, or gliding across a skating rink in her youth, Zoey lived with a zest for adventure.
She shared countless joyful moments singing karaoke with her mom, grilling delicious meals in the summer, and hosting unforgettable holiday gatherings where her welcoming spirit and delectable cooking made everyone feel like family. Her infectious laughter and vibrant presence could light up any room,and make it louder as well! Her favorite hangout, the John Allison Public House (“JAP House”) in Greencastle, was where she made lifelong memories with friends.
In addition to her parents, Zoey is survived by her beloved children, Jeremiah Murray, Ivy’onna Taylor, Messiah Webb, Ruquyyah Webb, and Jaidlyn Fuss; her step-daughters, Yariah Webb and Jaiyana Webb; her siblings, Logan Peck, Zavier Peck, Zaniyah Peck, and Lyric Smalls, all of Chambersburg, PA, and Olivia Murray of Hagerstown, MD; her maternal grandmother, Cindy Harr-Loudin of Hagerstown, MD; her maternal grandfather, Ezra Peck of Winchester, VA; her uncle, Danny Peck of McConnellsburg, PA; her paternal aunt, Mille Myers of Hagerstown, MD and her partner, Cory Fuss of Waynesboro, PA.
Zoey was preceded in death by her maternal step-grandfather, Arnold Loudin; paternal grandmother, Barb Murray; and paternal uncle, Bill Myers.
A funeral service to celebrate Zoey’s beautiful life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA, with Pastor Orlando Valentin officiating.
The family will warmly welcome friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.
