Yvonne L. (Snyder) Myers, 88, of Greencastle, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Quincy Village in Waynesboro, PA.
Born on December 4, 1936, in Hagerstown, MD, Yvonne was the beloved daughter of the late Russell L. and Helen E. (Raffensberger) Snyder.
Yvonne grew up in Hagerstown and attended Hagerstown High School. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Donald L. A. Myers, in Hagerstown. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years until Donald preceded her in death on December 10, 2020.
She had a natural gift for caring for others, which led her to a career in nursing. She worked as a nursing assistant at several local facilities throughout her life, including Avalon Manor, Leader Nursing Home, Quincy Nursing Home, and Washington County Hospital, where she retired in the early 1990s. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impact on those she cared for. Even in retirement, her passion for healthcare remained strong — she loved watching medical programs and reading about nursing, always staying curious and engaged. She also loved the companionship of her dog Wiggles. Yvonne found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially loved watching the birds outside her window — hummingbirds were her favorite.
She is survived by her five children: Cheryl Hamby of Greencastle; Melodi McDonald and her husband, Kevin of North Carolina; Kevin Myers and his wife, Julie of Greencastle; Mark Myers of Mercersburg, PA; and Jarrod Myers and his wife, Stacey of Greencastle. She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Yvonne was preceded in death by her grandson, Keith Rhodes, and her brother, Richard Leon Snyder and a daughter-in-law, Leesa Myers.
Funeral services to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, with Rev. J. Herman Fisler officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Grand Point Cemetery, formerly known as Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coseytown, PA.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 22, 2024, at the funeral home.
