Mr. William “Bill” H. Spielman, age 72, of Greencastle, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Quincy Village in Waynesboro, PA surrounded by his children.

Born February 27, 1954, in Hagerstown, MD, Bill was the cherished son of the late Ernest W. and Lillian M. (Wolffsen) Spielman of Falling Waters, WV.

He graduated from North High High School, Hagerstown, MD with the Class of 1972.

On October 24, 1984, Bill married the love of his life, Lucinda “Cindy” M. Spielman, in Hagerstown, MD. Together, they joined their families and built a life centered around love, commitment, and adventure.

Hardworking and dedicated throughout his life, Bill spent his early career with the Manbeck Bread Company before continuing his career a route salesman and eventually the plant manager with Bimbo Baking Company formerly known as Buttercrust/Holsum Baking Company and Sara Lee, from which he retired in 2013 after years of faithful service.

To those who knew and loved him, Bill was the definition of strength, reliability, and unconditional love; a truly extraordinary man who gave his all to his family and brought joy, warmth, and laughter wherever he went.

Bill had a passion for the open road and felt most alive riding his 2005 Harley Davidson Road King. Purchased brand new alongside Cindy, the motorcycle was his pride and joy, carrying them across more than 110,000 miles of memories and scenic journeys, including trips as far as Nova Scotia.

At heart, Bill was a man of action and compassion. Known affectionately as a true “Mr. Fix-It,” there was virtually nothing he couldn’t mend or craft with his hands. He possessed a soft spot for all pets and wildlife, and his sharp wit and great sense of humor brightened every room. Above all else, Bill was a gentle pillar of strength for his family, prioritizing his time with his children and grandchildren above all.

Bill is survived by his children: Michelle Rhodes (Jason) of Mercersburg, Christina Webber (Raymond) or Waynesboro, Buffie Freeman of Mont Alto, and Jimmy Spielman of Greencastle; as well as his cherished 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, his brother, Gary Sprankle (Deb) of Williamsport, MD all of whom brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his wife, his brother, Robert L. Sprankle and his great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Frazier.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday October 31, 2026, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday morning in the funeral home.
