Mr. William Lee Shilling, 77, of Hagerstown, died at his residence on Sunday, December 6, 2020.  He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Linda Kay Hoover-Shilling, his wife of 54 years.

The youngest of ten children, he was Born July 3, 1943, in Fiddlersburg, he was a son of the late Leonard Maynard “Leon” and Orpha Louis Bowman Shilling.

Mr. Shilling was retired from Tri-State Roofing Company, and had previously worked as a roofer and sheet metal foreman for Bonded Applicators in Hagerstown and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; a career that span over 43 years.  He took much pride in his work and his craft which can be seen on many properties, churches and business in the four state area.

He attended Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown; and was member of Western Maryland Sportsman Club, Sharpsburg; and Western Enterprise Fire Company, Hagerstown.

After Mr. Shilling retired, he was able to enjoy what he enjoyed most:  fishing, hunting and gardening.

Surviving besides his wife. are his children Sonya Lee and James William Shilling; four grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Mr. Shilling was preceded in death by siblings Clyde, Joseph, Robert, Merle, Isabelle Shilling, Emma Sprankle, Betty Eaton, Ethel Otzelberger, and Janice Monninger.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with family with arrangements.  There will not be visiting at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 1:30 PM, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 West Washington Street, Hagerstown.  Family and friends who plan to attend will gather at the main entrance and process to the gravesite just prior 1:30 PM.
