William L. “Bill” Hull, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday August 4, 2024 at the York Hospital. Born February 3, 1945, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. “Woody” Hull and Ruth Stoner Hull.
Bill was a Chambersburg native. He was a self-employed builder for many years; upon retirement Bill went to work for the Chambersburg Area School District, where he retired after 10 years, in 2021. Bill enjoyed all sports, including baseball, football, archery and hunting. In his later years, Bill enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins in the fall and winter, where he was their #1 fan and in the spring and summer, he enjoyed working in his garden and sitting on his deck and enjoying his yard. Bill was a member of St. Paul United Methodist church.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Ann H. Haller Hull and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Debra Wilson and Charles E. “Bud” Hull.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Paul UMC, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201, where Pastor John Kratz will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the above church and address.
