William “Bill” G. Ritchey, 84, of Fayetteville, went home to be the Lord, Tuesday August 6th, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born Saturday February 17th, 1940; to the late Floyd M. and Mary (Peach) Ritchey in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Rita M. Weakland Ritchey; three daughters, Michele Stouffer with husband Dale, Kimberly Sprow, and Mary Constanza with husband Domenico; five grandchildren, Ranae, Kerry with husband Dan, Shelly with husband Justin, Robert with wife Ashley, and Jeremy with wife Bekah; eleven great-grandchildren Austin, Anthony, Shelby, Desirae, Colby, Raelyn, Colton, Kassidy, Kennedy, Mason and Lily; a sister Vivian Rivord; brother John Ritchey; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
Bill was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, as a mechanic and eventually as a quality control expert until his retirement in 2000, after 37 years. He also worked for Lurgan Leasing as a truck driver after retirement. Everybody he met, he made a friend, but never a stranger. He was considered an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and owned a campsite at Raystown Lake, his favorite place in the world. He attended many NASCAR events.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17th, 2024, and a memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Springs Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17202. Retired minister Edward Dyche officiating.
