Mr. William A. Collis, III, 91, a resident of Quincy Village, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024.
Born September 21, 1932, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late William A. Collis Jr. and Edna Belle LeDane.
He was a graduate of McKinley Tech High School in Washington D.C. with the class of 1951.
Mr. Collis served his country honorable in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955.
He and his wife, the late Nell (Sellers) Collis, were married August 14, 1958, in Washington D.C. They enjoyed 65 years together before Mrs. Collis passed away in January of 2024.
Mr. Collis made a living being an executive for the National Association of Realtors.
He was very active in the Quincy Village and was recognized for 2,000 hours of volunteer service that he put in around the village doing various tasks. He enjoyed being part of the train club and his out to lunch activities with groups of friends.
Mr. Collis is survived by his son, William K. Collis and his wife Diane M. of East Hampton, CT; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth E. Good, of Potomac, MD.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his son James K. Collis, and his sisters, Nancy and Nonnie.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
