Vonna L. Werle, 91, of Seymour, MO, passed away on July 31, 2025, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. Born May 30, 1934 in Seymour, MO, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Frances J. Hargus Kennemer. Her beloved husband, Donald Werle, preceded her in death in 1979.
Vonna was a graduate of Seymour High School. She and her husband were the owner/operators of Seymour Hardware for 22 years. During her retirement, Vonna was an Avon Representative for 40 years. She was a member of Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Seymour, MO for many years and served in various roles in the church. A champion pie baker, Vonna was very well known in the Seymour area for her apple pies and won many pie baking competitions. She also enjoyed crocheting and making hand embroidered quilts for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Lindley of Fayetteville, PA; two grandchildren, Sarah Nichols and husband Adam of Shippensburg, and Andrew Lindley of Fayetteville. Aside from her husband and parents, Vonna was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Eli Kennemer; and her son-in-law, Donald Lindley.
Services and interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
