Veronica M. Betz, 85, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at The Leland of Laurel Run in Waynesboro. Born March 6, 1939 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Mardis Conner.
Veronica was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She was employed as a secretary at Greencastle Antrim High School for 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Greencastle. Veronica enjoyed flower gardening and cross stitch.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Betz, whom she married on January 9, 1960; two sons, Gary Betz of Chambersburg, and Randall Betz (wife Ruth) of Hedgesville, WV; two grandchildren, Michael Betz and Kristina Betz; three great grandchildren, Paris, Jude and Brooklyn; and her sister, Mary Dorcik of OH. Aside from her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Conner; and two sisters, Jean and Nancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 395 S. Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA 17225. Fr. Augusty Valomchalil will celebrate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, May 13, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle Street, Greencastle, PA 17225.
