Mr. Terry L. Martin, 84, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, in his home.
Born July 4, 1940 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Henry and Aletha “Pat” (Fouke) Martin.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of Waynesboro Area High School with the Class of 1958.
He served in the United States Navy from 1958-1961 where he completed basic training at Great Lakes, radio school in Bainbridge, MD and later served aboard the U.S.S. Lookout.
He and his wife, the late Linda L. (Hager) Martin, were married February 15, 1969. They were together for 50 years when she passed away April 13, 2019.
Mr. Martin began his working career at Letterkenny Army Depot and then took his trade at Landis Machine Co. In 1969, he began at Mack Truck Manufacturing where he continued until his retirement in 1999. Following his retirement, he worked as a truck driver for D.L. George and Sons for 12 years.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge #586 F. & A.M., Owls Club, Waynesboro Fish and Game Association and South Mountain Rod and Gun Club.
Mr. Martin loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandson, Luke. He also enjoyed hunting and was especially proud of his Corvette and Harley.
He is survived by one son, Timothy A. Martin and his wife, Julie of Waynesboro; one grandson, Luke A. Martin; one brother, Michael T. Martin of Cocoa Beach, FL; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry William Martin, II.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
