Mrs. Sydell Thrope, 90, of Boca Raton, Florida, and formerly a long time resident of Hagerstown, died Monday morning, April 15, 2019, at her home in Boca Raton. She was the wife of Dr. Norman N. Thrope, her husband of 62 years who preceded her in death in 2014. Born March 19, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Samuel and Yetta Granet. She was a graduate of Hunter College in New York. She was a member of Congregation B’nai Abraham, Hagerstown; and was a past member of B’Nai Abraham Sisterhood. Surviving is her son, Jerrold Thrope and wife Denise of Owings Mills. The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 18, at 12:00 PM, at B’nai Abraham Cemetery, 17517 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, with Rabbi Ariel D. Plost officiating.
