Mrs. Susan E. (Ebersole) McCardell, 96, of Greencastle, PA passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025, in her home.
Born February 21, 1929 in Fayetteville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Jane (Wilson) Ebersole.
She and her husband, the late William M. McCardell, Sr., were married on October 27, 1946. Mr. McCardell died on January 14, 1993.
In her early life, Mrs. McCardell worked at The Mont Alto Shoe Factory and Randy’s Corner, Hagerstown, MD. However, she was a homemaker most of her life.
She loved shopping and enjoyed working on puzzles.
She is survived by five children, Mary Jane Snider (Ronald) of Mercersburg, PA, Dennis McCardell (Kathy) of Greencastle, PA, Robert McCardell (Linda) of Mercersburg, PA, Karen Stansbury (Mark) of Carlisle, PA and Rodger Naugle (Pam) of Chambersburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat Collins of Waynesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William McCardell, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 12, 2025, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Jonathan Laye officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
