Steven W. Myers, aged 67, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly in the Hershey Medical Center on Monday, January 6, 2025. Born in Chambersburg, PA on December 9, 1957, he was the son of the late Revs. Sampson R. and Nancy J. Miller Myers.
A 1975 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Steve went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from National Education Center, Thompson Institute in 1986 as well as a certification in Microsoft and A+ in 2001. Steve worked as a Field Engineer for Diebold and Wincor Nixdorf for 35 years, retiring in 2013. He then went on to work for Rolling Hills as a bus driver in his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, music, playing guitar, and working on cars with his son and father.
Surviving are three children, Misty Myers (spouse Kevin Coulombe) of Montreal, QC, Canada; Stephanie Myers (spouse Joseph Gibble) of Harrisburg, PA; and Dyon Taylor-Myers (girlfriend Kaylee Joyce) of Chambersburg, PA; four siblings, Sampson R. Myers, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA, Sharon E. Defenderfer (husband Thomas) of Campbelltown, PA, Scott A. Myers of Hagerstown, MD, and Shannon Myers, Sr. of Chambersburg, PA; Nieces Alisha Mottern, Angie Beck, Jessy Defenderfer, Jerusha Gill, Jaina Shirk; Nephews Shannon Myers, Jr., Aaron Myers, and Jacob Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Reverend Jes Kast will officiate accompanied by Thomas and Sharon Defenderfer. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 6- 8 PM and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment in Parklawn’s Memorial Garden will be private.
