Silas E. “Sam” Hollar, 83, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Born August 12, 1941, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Frank and Pauline Divelbliss Hollar.
A US Navy veteran, Sam served honorably from 1960-64. He was employed with the United States Postal Service and also as a truck driver until his retirement. Sam was of the Methodist faith and loved taking care of his cats.
He is survived by three siblings, William Hollar and wife Marion, Fleda Gabler, and Donna Black and husband David. Aside from his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Hollar; and six siblings.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
