Mrs. Shirley Ann Whitmore Vance, 86, of Hagerstown, died early Friday morning, January 12, 2024, at Sterling Care – South Mountain, Boonsboro. She was the wife Joseph Phillip Vance, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1990.
Born on May 15, 1936, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus Andrew and Margaret Catherine Shank Whitmore.
Mrs. Vance worked with Hagerstown Kitchens for many years. She had also worked cleaning a local motel.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church, Hagerstown.
Surviving are her children Joseph Vance, Jr., of Hagerstown, Allen Vance of Falling Waters, and Brenda Rowe, also of Hagerstown; by three grandchildren Joseph, and Brittany and Dennis Rowe; six great grandchildren; as well as her sister Gloria Teach of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Vance; and several brothers and sisters.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
