Sheri Lee Saunders, 39, of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with her Lord after a lengthy battle with chronic liver disease on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born May 11, 1971, in Arlington, Virginia, she was a daughter of Robert L. and Janet S. Saunders of Falling Waters, West Virginia, and Sherlyn M. Weaver Saunders of Hagerstown.
Sheri was employed as a QA/QC Auditor for Bio Reliance, Rockville, MD.
She graduated Williamsport High School; and Hood College, Frederick, with a Master’s Degree in Bio-Medical Science.
She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hagerstown.
Sheri was a kind and gentle soul who was devoted to her daughter; and who loved animals.
Prior to her illness she had multiple interests in sports, music, and ancient biblical history.
Besides her parents, Sheri is survived by her beloved daughter Alexandra Olivia Saunders of Hagerstown; and sister Robyn R. Miller of Martinsburg, West Virginia; as well as a niece, two nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister Dawn E. Myers; maternal grandparents Melvin L. and
Margaret E. Weaver; and paternal grandparents Charles E. and
Ruby I. Saunders.
Services will be Monday, May 9, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home.
The Rev. Dr. Ann Boyd will officiate.
Interment will be in Manor Cemetery, Tilghmanton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
