Mrs. Sharon L. (Rock) Bennett, 76, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born January 15, 1950 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Victor E. Rock, Sr. and Elsie Marie (Wagaman) Rock. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.

Sharon graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1968.

She and her husband of over 46 years, Frederick H. “Fred” Bennett, were married on April 2, 1980.

Sharon worked in the billing department of the Waynesboro Hospital. She retired in 2015 after 30 years of service at the hospital.

She was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – Fairview Ward, where she was a member of The Relief Society and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Mercersburg Community Chorus.

Sharon loved music, especially singing and playing the piano. She also treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by eight children, Christopher Sanders (Jessica Eden) of Wynantskill, NY, Tracy Geesaman (Brian) of Laurel, MD, Joseph Bennett (Andrea) of Marriottsville, MD, Eve Bennett of Waynesboro, Kimberly Bennett (Derek Helman) of Waynesboro, Marc Bennett of Merritt Island, FL, Fred Bennett and Joel Bennett; 17 grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Sharon would want everyone to know how much she loved sharing her birthday with her daughter Kim as well as her beloved Moona.

She was the last of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor E. Rock, Jr. and Gary W. Rock.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 22, 2026 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Fairview Ward, 11887 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, PA. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Monday morning, in the church.
