Mrs. Sharon Lee (Knott) Sprenkle, 77, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 in Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.
Born May 12, 1949 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Allen J. Knott, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Sharon was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1968.
She and her husband, the late Harold Eugene Sprenkle, were married on August 31, 1968 in Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. They were together for 47 years when Mr. Sprenkle passed away on June 21, 2015.
Mrs. Sprenkle retired from Susquehanna Bank in May of 2014 after 34 years of service to care for her husband who was battling lung cancer.
She attended Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Waynesboro and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and special outreach ministries.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with family, crocheting and taking photos. She cherished vacations she and Harold took to Ocean City, MD and the long walks on the beach.
She is survived by one daughter Melissa Lynn Pyre and her husband, Brian of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Marlena N. Prye; one great-grandson, Kaiden M. Shipley; one brother, Gary L. Knott and wife, Eunice of Waynesboro; two sisters, Donna K. Reid and her husband, Mike of Clear Spring, MD and Lisa J. Roedl and her husband, Thomas of Mason, OH; her sister-in-law, Peggy Susan Wetzel and family of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Allen J. Knott, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 28, 2026 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro with the Rev. Christopher Onyeneke, MSSCC officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday morning, in the church.
