Mr. Shane M. Sneary, 48, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the Hershey Medical Center, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on April 15, 2026.
Born August 2, 1977 in Lima, OH, he was the son of Thomas and Debra (Wilkins) Sneary of Lima.
He graduated from Elida High School with the Class of 1996. He later received his Associates Degree from the Community College of the Air Force and attended Bowling Green University.
Shane served with the United States Air Force for over 21 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He served during the Global War on Terrorism, including time in Korea, Qatar, Turkey, England and Nellis A.F.B. (NV). He worked on B-1’s, F-16’s, F-15’s and F-22’s. Following his honorable discharge, he was currently at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA, where he had been for over 8 years, as an Electrical Industrial Controls Mechanic. In 2025, he was the Wage Grade Employee of the Year for Letterkenny. Shane had over 30 years of Federal service.
He and his wife of over 14 years, Heather E. (Koons) Sneary, were married on October 29, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV.
Shane was a member of Otterbein Church, Waynesboro, PA and enjoyed monster trucks, WWE wrestling, video games, motorcycles, amusement parks, tinkering around the house and especially, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Aselynn Rosenberry and Rhyder Sneary, both at home; his siblings, Nicole Siefker, Aundrea Fricke and Chase Archer; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darrel and Carolyn Wilkins and Raymond and Mary Sneary.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Otterbein Church, 912 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Mike Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, where military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Saturday morning, in the church.
