Ruth Naomi Baumbaugh, age 101, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Brookview Health Care Center. Born October 7, 1922, in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Anna Florence Binkley Wetsel.
Mrs. Baumbaugh worked as a seamstress for the former Gem Garment Com of Greencastle and Ross Garment Company of Hagerstown, MD.
The last of her immediate family, she is survived by a nephew, Ned Myers (wife Edie) and her dearest friends and caregivers, Wayne and Marjorie Dale of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Baumbaugh in 1978, five siblings, Opal Egolf, Viola Myers, Helen Lindsay, Esther Wetsel, and Elva Myers, three nieces, Florence Wilson, Pauline Swisher, and Betty Sterner, and two nephews, John Egolf and Harold Lindsay.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Gayle Ruble will officiate. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Macedonia Cemetery.
