Ruth H. Brown, 96, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Saturday March 29, 2025, at Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA.
She was born on November 15, 1928, in Pinola, PA to the late John Horst and Alice Frey.
Ruth was a homemaker, but also worked at the Butcher Shoppe in Chambersburg for many years. She was an active member at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, PA and enjoyed making Easter eggs with friends at church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and always made sure that everyone was well fed and never went hungry.
She is survived by her son James “Jim” Brown and his wife Tracey of Chambersburg, PA; son Jay Brown of Waynesboro, PA; daughter Susan Witter of Chambersburg, PA; grandchildren Nicole Myers (Brad), Brittany Snider (Tyler), Kaley Brown (Matt), Jacob Hall (Amina), Scott Witter (Hannah), 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Thelma Eberly, Edna Eberly (Rich), and Joyce Landis (Ray).
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Milton W. Brown who passed away in 2018, and her siblings Paul, Carl, Wayne, Lois, Mary, Janet, and Miriam
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
