Mr. Ronald P. “Buck” Suder, Sr., 75, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Hill Crest Hospital, Cleveland. He was the husband of Donna I. Dray Suder whom he married December 10, 1963.
Born June 9, 1942, in Conococheague, he was son of the late Leslie Paul, Sr., and Huldah Lillian Smith Suder. He grew up in Hagerstown and graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1960.
He was employed as a plumber when he moved from Hagerstown to Canton, Ohio in the mid 1960’s. In 1969 he and his family relocated to Toronto, Ohio, where he began working for Weirton Steel. He retired in 1992.
In retirement, he began work in the mental health industry; something he found very rewarding: assisting those who had love to give, by just couldn’t find themselves. He finally retired in the year 2000.
He very much enjoyed spending time with his grand a great grandchildren; and vacationing in Mexico. He had a new found love for a different culture.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Ronald P. Suder, Jr., and wife Kim of Aurora, Ohio, Robert H. Suder of Steubenville, and Erich K. Suder and wife Jane of Cincinnati, Ohio; by six grandchildren, Janden, Jason, Jessie, Jerry, Alik and Christine; and a great grandson, Jimmy.
Buck is also survived by by sibings, Leslie P. Suder, Sr., and wife Beverly, and Gary W. Suder, all of Hagerstown, Mary Ellen Staggart of Marietta, Georgia, and Sheila E. Hayes and husband Bill of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Ernest and Hilda L. Smith.
Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
