Mr. Robert Lee Rutherford, Sr., 72, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.  He was the husband of Mrs. Linda A. Rutherford, his wife of 38 years.

Born December 3, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred and Myrtle Viola Hosler Rutherford.  He graduated Boonsboro High School in the class of 1959; and served in the United States Army.

Robert was a professional driver and charter member of D.M. Bowman, Inc., Road Team, retiring in 2006 with 34 years of service.  He accumulated 3.68 million miles during his career.  He also participated in company driving championships.

He was of Protestant Faith.

Mr. Rutherford is survived by children, Damion P. Rutherford, Michael S. Dixon, and Robert L. Rutherford, Jr., all of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.  Services will be private at later date.  Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
