Mr. Robert R. “Bob” “Bones” Keller, 85, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Mercy House in Chambersburg.
Born March 4, 1941, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lee and Effie Mae (Zeger) Keller.
A 1959 graduate of Greencastle High School, Robert built his life on hard work, loyalty, and quiet dedication. On November 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Karol A. (Rinehart) Keller, in the Manse of Greencastle Presbyterian Church. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage rooted in family, love, and unwavering commitment.
Robert devoted 40 years of his career as a machinist at Mack Truck, retiring in 2001. He took great pride in his work and was a member of both the Greencastle V.F.W. and the U.A.W.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in his later years when fishing became a favorite pastime. He particularly loved flounder fishing and cherished an annual week spent in Chincoteague Island with his son, brother, nephew, and close friend, Dave.
Above all else, Robert was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather, treasuring every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those simple, meaningful, love-filled times were what mattered most to him.
In addition to his wife, he is lovingly remembered by his children, Laurie Harbaugh and her husband, Gregory, of Waynesboro, PA, and David Keller of State Line, PA, and his wife, Tamara, of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Stephanie Palmer and her husband, Brian, of Waynesboro, and Jarrod Keller and his wife, Chassidy, of Fort Loudon, PA; and his five great-grandchildren, Makayla, Jacob, Faith, Natalie, and Isla.
He is also survived by his siblings, Harold Keller and his wife, Connie, of Greencastle; his twin brother, William Keller and his wife, Rella, of Greencastle; and Sonja Brandenburg, of Sabillasville, MD, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Barry Keller, Samuel Keller, Jane Kemp, two infant siblings and his brother-in-law, Arthur Brandenburg.
Robert will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family…values that will continue to live on in all who knew him.
Robert’s family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA.
