Robert L. “Bob” Nitterhouse, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 14, 1938 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Robert T. Nitterhouse, Jr. and Dorothy V. Lehman Nitterhouse.
Bob was a 1956 graduate of CASHS. A US Navy veteran, he served honorably from 1956 – 59. He was employed in Avionics with the Federal Aviation Administration and later was the owner/operator of NAC Divisions in Chambersburg. He was a friend of Bill W’s for 43 years. Bob liked computers and anything with electronics. He also enjoyed spending time with is dogs Annie and Jack and going to the Outer Banks. In his retirement, Bob developed a passion for building models and playing computer games.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna L. “Ginger” Nitterhouse, whom he married on August 6, 1961; one niece, Christine Nitterhouse of Montgomery Village, MD; and three nephews, Tom Wingert of Chambersburg, Steven Arnold of Center Hall, and Alex Nitterhouse of Roseville, CA. Aside from his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Nitterhouse.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
