Robert Eugene Knode, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at NMS Health Care, Hagerstown. He was the husband of the late Lois Jane Pugh Knode, who preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 1992.
Born Jan. 27, 1926, in Sharpsburg, Md., he was a son of the late John Vient and Eva Agnes Bender Knode.
Robert owned and operated K & S Locksmiths.
He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, and was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Hagerstown Lodge 378.
He is survived by his daughter, Leah R. Knode Ebersold and husband, John, of Purcellville, Va.; and his brother, David McKinley Knode and wife, Doreen, of Hagerstown; and companion, Wanda M. Knode.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
The funeral service will be at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, on Friday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. David B. Kaplan, will officiate. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Friday.
