Mr. Richard F. Cline, 86, of Fairfield, PA passed away Tuesday morning, June 10, 2025, at Sterling Care, Boonsboro, MD.
Born December 1, 1938 in Fountaindale, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Pittenger) Cline.
Mr. Cline was a graduate of Fairfield Area High School with the Class of 1957 where he served as Class President. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Math from Shippensburg University where he also completed graduate work. While at Shippensburg, he was a member of the College Math Club where he served as President for years, 2, 3 & 4.
He and his wife of over 63 years, Barbara Ann (Parker) Cline, were married April 21, 1962, in Wesley Chapel, Fairfield, PA.
Mr. Cline taught math for the Waynesboro Area School District for 35 years. He retired in 1996.
He was a lifelong member of Wesley Chapel in Fairfield, where he served on the Board of Directors, as treasurer for 5 years and was Chairman of the Administrative Council. He also was a member of Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Company for over 60 years where he served as President for 15 years, Deputy Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Mark Allen Cline (Vickie) of Fairfield, PA and Sheri Yvonne White (Robert) of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, Corey White and Emily White; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Bumbaugh and Eloise Slack; and one brother, C. Howard Cline.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, 654 Old Waynesboro Road, Fairfield, PA with Pastor Lin Smalec officiating. Burial will be held prior to the funeral at 11:30 A.M. in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Fairfield. The public is welcome to attend.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M., Saturday afternoon, in the church.
