Mr. Richard E. “Dick” Downin, 93, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA and formerly of Rouzerville, PA passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Quincy Village.
Born August 11, 1930 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Howard and Marie (Patterson) Downin.
He and his wife of over 72 years, Patricia (Barnes) Downin, were married on March 1, 1952.
In his early life, Mr. Downin worked at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro. He later worked as a machinist at Mack Truck, Hagerstown, MD. He retired after more than 20 years of service.
He enjoyed wood working and painting vehicles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Sondra Monn of Waynesboro, Debrah Rock of Waynesboro, Robert Downin of Leitersburg, MD and Richard A. Downin of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Stacey, Jeremy, Josh, Eli and Erin; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Cramer of Waynesboro and Mary Smith – a resident of Quincy Village; one brother, Paul Downin of Chambersburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
