Renee Poper, 65, of Greencastle, PA passed away unexpectedly in the Waynesboro Hospital on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born on April 8, 1959 in Greensburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Vinson and Twila (Lambing) Hatcher.
Renee graduated from Greencastle-Antrim High School with the Class of 1977. She was employed at the State Line Post Office for several years. She most recently worked at MS Johnston in Hagerstown for over 20 years. She loved working and enjoyed all the friends she made.
Renee attended the Heidelberg Church, Marion, PA. She was a lifetime member of Greencastle Sportsman Club where she was the first female on the board and served as the president of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed her time with all the women involved. Renee loved to shooting bow, gardening, being outdoors and could not stand to sit still.
She always wanted to be a mother, and boy did she excel at that! Many of her children’s friends even call her “Mom.” Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family. She truly had a heart of gold. Renee was such a positive, happy-go-lucky person, and she will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
Renee is survived by three daughters, Jessica Carter (Eli), Jennifer Keefer (Kelley), and Janet Poper (Josh); a son; Joshua Poper; eight grandchildren; two nieces; and numerous cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Christian and a brother, Brad.
