Mr. Ray A. Rotz, 80, of Mont Alto, PA, passed away August 27, 2025 after a 16-year courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born May 11, 1945 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Anna Mary (Mowen) Rotz.

Ray graduated from Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1964.

Ray married his wife, Barbara K. (Ditch) Rotz on June 20, 1968.

He served in the Army National Guards from 1968-1974.

Ray retired in 2009 from Mitchell Machine Shop as a Shipping and Receiving clerk after 35 years.

Ray was a simple man at heart with a great sense of humor that loved his family. He always got the biggest laugh out of telling his grandchildren “Tall tales” about his younger days. He enjoyed golfing, fixing clocks, hunting mushrooms and loved all sports, especially Penn State Football and Washington Redskins.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by their three children: son, Craig A. Rotz (Ashlyn), daughter, Gladys R. Cook (Steven), daughter Jill M. Moats (Stephen); 4 grandchildren, Alexis R. Monn (Devin), Cheyenne N. Warren (Malakai), David M. Colon, Alexander S. Cook; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Jay W. Rotz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn H. Rotz; and two sisters, Gladys B. Rotz and Carol Ann Souders.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Journey Hospice, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Suite 20, Gettysburg, PA 17325 in memory of Ray Rotz.

At his request, services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
