Rick enjoyed dining out, golfing, motor sports and was a longtime fan of the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts and QB Johnny Unitas.
He graduated in 1975 from CASHS/Franklin County Votech. Following in his father’s footsteps as an Auto Body Technician for many years he would be forced into early retirement.
After retiring, he would move back home to assist our mother in the daily care of our father during his long ten-year journey with Alzheimer’s, passing in March of 2016. He would then assist in the daily care of our mother during her short journey with CHF, as she passed away in January of 2021. Although Rick struggled, on occasion, with this self-appointed role no words can express how much we appreciated the sacrifices he made during this time. We love and miss you. May you rest in peace, Rick.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Hartman.
He is survived by siblings, Mike Emory (Christina), Angie Rife (Bruce), and Anita Strubel; nieces, Andrea Evangelista (Gryphon Lucas), Airica Evangelista-Simmers (Nathan), Alyssa Balkcom (Bryant), and Amanda Hartman; nephews, Christopher Emory (Ashley), Adam Emory, and Drew Rife (Caira); as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc. of Chambersburg.
