Preston Garth Bellows, 91, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 peacefully at Paramount Personal Care. Born May 6, 1934 in Hindsdale, Illinois he was the son of the late Samuel and Nellie (Multer) Bellows.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan (Campbell) Bellows; six children, Julie Arnold (Ted), Timothy Bellows (Tina), Todd Bellows (Jodi), Deborah Cline, Garth Bellows (Tressa), and Matthew Bellows (Alicia); fourteen grandchildren, Benjamin Arnold (Malynda), Colin Arnold (Sarah), Jack Bellows (Madison), Carter, Garret, Kelsey, Cameron, Grant Bellows, Taylor and Reagan Cline, Eliza, Ivy, Jake Bellows and Hana Brandman (Brian); and a loving sister, Carol O’Reilly; finally two very close friends that will miss him greatly, Tony Saitta (Rose) and Bruce Hamm (Sue).

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David Bellows; two brothers, Lyle and Rodney; and a granddaughter, Abigael Bellows.

Preston served in the United States Army as an Intelligence Specialist from January 1957 to January 1960. He was also part of the National Guard before and after active-duty service. While in the Army he received a Good Conduct Metal and a Sharpshooter Badge. Following his military service, he pursued a career for 30 years with IBM as a salesman, marketing manager, and specialist in state government. After he retired, he owned and operated a real-estate, rental and development company in Chambersburg, PA  with his wife.

Preston enjoyed watching and playing sports; reading and watching mystery and detective novels and movies; and doing his daily crossword puzzles. He also loved spending time with his family and traveling to Florida with his wife for the winters.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his loving family members. He loved learning and teaching his children and grandchildren about life and what it had to offer. He was dedicated to his work. We of course cannot forget his favorite snack “chocolate.”
