Philomena F. Reed,69, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at home. She was born December 20, 1954 in Chambersburg, of the late LeRoy K. and Delores M. (Himes) Reed. Graduated from Chambersburg Area High School in 1972 and then from Wilson College, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1976 majoring in Psychology and Spanish. She went on to work as a police dispatcher for Montgomery Co. Md. After about 12 years, she did a career switch and went back to school and become an RN, retiring from the National Institutes of Health. Nina enjoyed her friends and family and making them laugh, cooking, traveling and going to the beach. She had a love of jewelry and pretty things. Philomena is survived by her sisters, Geraldine and her husband,Marvin, Kayhoe, Monica (Reed) Kauffman and her brother, Kirk and his wife, Lorraine, Reed and three nephews: Andy and Keith Kayhoe and William Reed Kauffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her her grandmother, Philomena Himes. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening, October 30, 2024 at Sellers Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to CVAS and any animal shelter of your choice.
