Mr. Peter C. Voltz, 72, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Laurel Lakes Rehab and Wellness Center, Chambersburg, PA.

Born November 19, 1953, in Panama, he was the son of the late David D. and Betty M. (Leverett) Voltz.

Peter was a man who lived life very much on his own terms. Independent by nature, he took pride in being self-employed and doing the kind of work he enjoyed. Gifted with a natural mechanical ability, he could fix, build, or figure out almost anything. Over the years he did custom carpentry, electrical work, solar system installation, and just about any other project someone needed help with. He loved rebuilding cars and spending time tinkering in his shop, always happiest when he had something to work on with his hands.

For Peter, helping others was never really about making money. If someone needed a hand, he was often there, sometimes refusing payment altogether. He simply enjoyed solving problems and lending his skills wherever they were needed.

Above all else, Peter loved his sons deeply and was always there for them. Some of his happiest times were spent fishing, camping, and traveling together. When they camped, Peter often took pride in building his own shelter, turning every trip into a bit of an adventure. One of his sons worked alongside him for nearly ten years, something Peter valued greatly.

Earlier in life, Peter lived in Florida, and he always kept a love for the ocean. Many special memories were made vacationing with his sons at Chincoteague and Assateague Island. When his boys played baseball, Peter even stepped up to help coach the team. Though he often joked that he didn’t know much about sports, he showed up anyway, because being there for his kids mattered most.

Peter was known for his good nature and his easygoing spirit. He had a way of putting others first and finding joy in the simple things, working with his hands, helping someone out, and spending time with the people he loved.

He is survived by two sons, Tanner M. Voltz and his companion, Marina Gaylor, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, and Wyatt V. Voltz of Waynesboro, PA; four grandchildren, Tristen, Tavin, Tyson, and Tobias; one brother, Raymond H. Voltz of Oxnard, CA; and many nieces and nephews, and his former wife, Kelly Voltz of Hudson, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia A. Bear, and his brother, Robert J. Voltz.

Services for Peter will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
