Peggy M. Pensinger, formerly of St. Thomas, PA, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025, her 94th birthday. She was a daughter of the late Jacob and Pauline Shindledecker Gearhart. Her beloved husband of 60 years, George Pensinger, Jr., whom she married on December 22, 1950, preceded her in death on November 18, 2011.

Peggy was a 1949 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and was her class valedictorian. She was employed with the Stanley Co. and J. Schoeneman Co. until her retirement. Peggy also operated an Avon distributorship for 46 years. She was a member of Grand Point Church in Chambersburg where she taught Sunday school, attended women’s Bible study, served on the Women’s Christian Service Council, and belonged to the Friendship Bible Study and Everfaithful Bible Class. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Christian’s Women Club. Peggy enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping, gospel music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Randy D. Pensinger and wife Penny of Shippensburg, and Michael R. Pensinger and wife Theresa of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Shawn Pensinger, Doug Carbaugh, Lance Pensinger, Casey Pensinger, Michelle Wagner, and Michael Pensinger, Jr.; fifteen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Erma Holtry of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by two grandsons, Randy Wagner, and Jason Pensinger; and three siblings, Esh Gearhart, Lois Holtry, and Faye Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Lawrence Metzler will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gracie’s Place Recovery Home, 1879 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
