Mrs. Pauline Mae Blickenstaff Butts, 97, of Hagerstown, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Earl L. Butts, Jr., who died in 1974.
Born January 25, 1919, in Myersville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Jennie Clara Brandenburg Blickenstaff.
Mrs. Butts retired in 1981 from Stanley Manufacturing Company, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
Additionally, she was a member of Hagerstown Turf Bowling; and the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary, with over 17,000 served. She was also an avid Baltimore Orioles Fan.
Mrs. Butts is survived by nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Earl L. Butts, III; her brother, James Blickenstaff; and sisters, Virginia Beitler and Madeline Beall.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 25, beginning at 10:00 AM, at her church, Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, on the corner of Washington and South Mulberry Streets. The funeral service will being at the church at 11:00 AM, with her pastors, the Revs. Timothy L. Duffey and Audrey N. Hollinberg Duffey will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to her church, Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, 15 South Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
