Paula K. Ricker, age 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Wednesday September 23rd, 2026, at Waynesboro Hospital. Born January 4th, 1947, in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Mable I. Shockey Ricker.
Paula was a Greencastle graduate in the class of 1964. She was a seamstress at the companies Connie Sportswear, Stanley Company, and Sylvania Shoe. She went back to school and attended HBC for an Associate’s in Accounting. She then worked at Riverbend, Maguansville Feed, and ended her working career at Citi Bank.
Paula was known for her times in the bingo hall, visiting Disney World, and taking cruises with her loved ones. She could often be found reading mystery novels or watching them on the Hallmark Mystery channel. She spent her retirement years not only enjoying all of these things, but also spending time with family, friends, and playing games on her Kindle.
Paula is survived by two children and four grandchildren. Her daughter is Rhonda J. Shatzer with husband Douglas Shatzer of Greencastle, PA; her granddaughters Grace Shatzer of Pittsburgh, PA and Rebecca Shatzer of Greencastle, PA. Her son is Harry E. Ricker with wife Amy Ricker of Greencastle, PA; her granddaughter Haley Ricker of Waynesboro, PA, and her only grandson Seth Ricker with wife Ana Ricker of Lexington, KY.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends for her smile, her kindness, her humor, and the light she brought to the lives of others.
Her ashes will be laid to rest with her mother in November. A memorial and celebration of life will be held by family and close friends around what would have been her 80th birthday. Information on this will come out via the family closer to time.
