Mr. Paul Franklin Hoover, Jr., 87, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.  He was the husband of the late Mrs. Jane Rayetta Fortunato Hoover, who preceded him in death on December 2, 2008.

Born June 8, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Paul Franklin, Sr., and Mildred Aramatha Sigler Hoover.  He graduated from Hagerstown High School; and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Hoover was employed with Potomac Edison Company.

He was a member of Christ’s Reformed Church United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.

Additionally, Paul was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association, Greencastle, Pennsylvania.

Surviving are his children, Lisa Mae Law and husband Bradford of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and Steven Hoover and wife Theresa of Falling Waters, West Virginia; as well as his grandchildren Ford, Riggs and Wes Law, all of Mt. Pleasant.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Tuesday, April 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  A private graveside service will be held in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.  The Rev. Marilyn E. Washburn will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hoover’s name to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Maryland  21740.
