Mrs. Patricia S. (Fell) Devlin, 91, of Waynesboro, PA passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 5, 2024, in her home.
Born November 17, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Kirsch) Fell.
She and her husband, the late John R. “Jack” Devlin, were married in 1953 in Buffalo, NY. They moved to Blue Ridge Summit, PA in 1966. Mr. Devlin died on February 14, 2003.
Patricia and Jack raised their large family with great energy and joy. The family’s many adventures took them across the country and back. As her family grew, Patricia was a beloved presence at her grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, graduations and celebrations. When she took time for herself, Patricia enjoyed tennis, golf, gardening and, later in life, spending winters in Florida with Jack. They had wonderful friends and were role models for living a good life.
Patricia was an active volunteer and participant in her community. She was an officer of the Blue Ridge Garden Club and the St. Rita Women’s Society, and taught religious education to school children for many years.
Patricia is survived by seven children, John P. Devlin (Donna), Mary D. Sobel (Theodore), Colleen A. Devlin (Richard Rosenthal), Paul B. Devlin (Sharon), Maureen E. Devlin (Robert McCabe), James C. Devlin (Lisa), and Patrick R. Devlin (Jennifer); 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren (with more on the way!); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Norma MacKinnon (Robert); and brothers, Charles Fell (Delores), Robert Fell (Shirley) and James Fell (Shirley).
Patricia was cared for by her loving family and a wonderful group of caregivers for whom we are deeply grateful: Euline, Ethel, Jill, Marie, Mary Alice, and Victoria, as well as Janet, Madison, Sharon and Susan.
