Oscar Daniel Myers, 89, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Broadmore Senior Living at Hagerstown.

Born September 10, 1922, in Dargan, he was a son of the late John Franklin and Della Albert Myers Myers.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Essie Norford Daughtery Myers on January 4, 1983, and his second wife Georgetta Elloise Gift Myers on August 15, 1993.

Mr. Myers was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He was employed as a salesman with Manbeck Bread Company, later Holsum Bread Company. While in the employ of Manbeck Bread Company he was the recipient of the first award for overall sales excellence.

Mr. Myers was a member of Bethel Assembly of God and attended Parkhead United Methodist Church.

Additionally, he was a member of Hagerstown Lodge 378, BPO Elks; and avid Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins fan. He also enjoyed camping.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly E. Sowers and husband Steven of Smithsburg, ad Jacalyn K. Walsh of Big Pool; four grandchildren five great grandchildren; and fourteen great, great grandchildren.

Besides his spouses and parents, Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his grandson Douglas M. Weatherholtz, Jr.; son-in-law Thomas P. Walsh; brother Herbert F. Myers; and an infant son.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2012, at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Inc. His pastor, Rev. W. Scott Summers will officiate. Interment will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, February 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
