NETTIE ANN DELISA ARM, 98, OF QUINCY VILLAGE (PA), AND FORMERLY OF GETTYSBURG, PA, DIED MONDAY, AUGUST 19, 2024, AT THE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY.

BORN OCTOBER 15, 1925 IN LONG BRANCH, N. J., SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE WILLIAM AND JENNIE (ZOZZARO) DELISA. SHE GRADUATED FROM LONG BRANCH HIGH SCHOOL IN 1943 AND THE MONMOUTH MEDICAL CENTER SCHOOL OF NURSING IN 1946.

SHE WAS COMMISSIONED IN THE NAVY NURSE CORPS AND SERVED IN FLORIDA, NORTH CAROLINA AND HAWAII FROM 1948 UNTIL HER MARRIAGE IN 1952. SHE ACCOMPANIED HER HUSBAND ON VARIOUS NAVAL ASSIGNMENTS IN THIS COUNTRY, EGYPT, TAIWAN, AND HAWAII. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF MICHAEL DEBAKEY’S CARDIAC CARE TEAM IN TEXAS; A SURGICAL NURSE IN THE NAVAL HOSPITAL, BETHESDA, MD; A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE IN FREDERICK COUNTY, MARYLAND AND A RESEARCH ASSISTANT IN PUBLIC HEALTH IN TAIWAN.

MRS. ARM MARRIED HERBERT G. ARM ON FEBRUARY 9, 1952. CAPTAIN ARM DIED ON FEBRUARY 23, 2019.

SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER MEDICAL SERVICE CORPS WIVES CLUB AND SERVED AS PRESIDENT 1963-64. SHE WAS A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE NAVY NURSE CORPS ASSOCIATION, A NAVY MEMORIAL PLANK OWNER AND SERVED ON THE BOARD OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA, FAR EAST. SHE SERVED ON THE QUINCY VILLAGE ACTIVITY COMMITTEE AND WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH OF GREENCASTLE, PA. SHE SERVED ON SEVERAL COMMITTEES OF THE WAYNESBORO LIONS CLUB, WAS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND A VELVIN JONES FELLOW OF THE LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION. SHE ENJOYED WORKING ON PROJECTS OF THE LIONS CLUB, TRAVELING AND WAS AN AVID BOWLER. SHE WAS DEVOTED TO HER FAMILY, LOVED HER GOD AND HER COUNTRY.

SHE IS SURVIVED BY TWO CHILDREN, NANCY PROGAR OF THURMONT, MD AND RANDY W. ARM OF OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC; TWO GRANDCHILDREN, MERISSA PROGAR AND ERIC PROGAR, BOTH OF THURMONT; TWO CLOSE NIECES, PATTY SHUCKER AND JOAN GUZZI; SEVERAL ADDITIONAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS; AND HER DEVOTED FRIEND, APRIL DAILY.

SERVICES AND BURIAL IN RESTHAVEN MEMORIAL GARDENS, FREDERICK, MD WILL BE PRIVATE AT THE CONVIENENCE OF THE FAMILY.

THE FAMILY IS GRATEFUL FOR THE LOVING CARE OF THEIR MOM BY THE STAFF OF PARKER HOUSE AT QUINCY VILLAGE.
