Mrs. Nellie Virginia Monn Keplinger, 88, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at her residence. She was the wife late Herschel Leon Keplinger, who died on December 5, 2002.
Born April 12, 1927, in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth, Sr., and Alice Leonora Kuhlman Monn. She graduated Hagerstown High School with the class of 1945.
Mrs. Keplinger retired in 1982 from Maryland Correctional Institution.
She was a member of St. James Brethren Church, where she participated with the Never Alone Sunday School Class.
Additionally, she was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 378 of Hagerstown. She was also a member of Ladies of the Elks Association with Hagerstown Lodge 378; the Williamsport Legion Post 202, Ladies Auxiliary; the National Chapter and Local Hagerstown Chapter 623 of AARP.
Surviving her children, Judith A. Fager of Ringold, Carolyn J. Poole of Hagerstown, Linda D. Bowers of Clear Spring, and Howard K. Keplinger also of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Keplinger was preceded in death by siblings, Nancy Carolyn Ardinger, Betty L. Mann, and Kenneth Monn, Jr.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Friday, July 10, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 11, at 10:30 AM with the interment following at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Her pastor, Rev. Bradley L. Selan, will officiate.
