Nancy Louise Christman, 80, passed away at home on Saturday, September 7, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 28, 1944, in her grandparents’ home (an old schoolhouse) in the village of Williamson, PA. Nancy was the daughter of the late Isabel (Shives) and Don Shuman. After the sudden death of her dad in 1959, Nancy was raised by her mother. She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School where she studied the business field. On April 14, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life, W. Ronald Christman. Together they raised their three daughters and enjoyed 62 years of marriage filled with trips to Chincoteague Island, VA, Florida, camping, and fishing. She was a talented seamstress, cook, baker, and loved planning banquets and special events. Nancy spent many years as a Girl Scout leader, youth leader, and coordinator of food pantries. She loved going on trips with her friends. Nancy attended the Chambersburg Bible Church. Nancy held various part time jobs over the years including restaurant work, bookkeeping, and custodial work. Together Ron and Nancy began Christman’s Appliance Sales and Service where she was his right hand. She did the accounting work, helped with deliveries, repaired vacuums, and so much more for the business. Her favorite job though was being wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her loving husband, Ron, Nancy is survived by her daughters: Tracey Thrush, Colleen (Dan) Browell, and Anita Cramer (friend, Kenny Quevedo); six grandchildren: Holly (Bronley) Plumb, Samuel (Jeana) Thrush, Ezra Thrush, Jacob Browell, Kyle (fiancé, Laura) Christman, and Abigail Thrush; five great-grandsons: Josiah, Aaron, Weston, Foster, and Camden; a brother, Rodney (Melody) Shuman; an uncle, Walter "Bill" Shives; two bonus grandsons, Zakkary and Hendrix; a bonus great-grandson, Richard; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, David Cramer and Rodney Thrush; stepfather, Glenn "Ben" Shuman; stepbrother, Rodger Shuman; her grandparents, Jerry & Vivian Shives, who helped raise her; mother and father-in-law, Warren and Mary Christman; sister-in-law, Beverly Souders; brother-in-law, Lakee Christman; as well as aunts, uncles, and a niece. The family will have times of visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sellers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sellers Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Daniel Browell. Burial will be at Saint Thomas Cemetery with Pastor Steve Trostle officiating the graveside committal service. The family would like to thank the many family members, friends, and staff that assisted in any way towards the care of Nancy during these last six months.
