INancy C. Barnhart, 87, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Mercy House of Chambersburg. She was born on January 3, 1939, in Chambersburg, PA to the late George Miller Coble, Sr. and Louella (Barnhart) Coble.
Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and went on to work as a Seamstress for the Stanley Company. She was a member of the Open Door Church in Chambersburg, PA where she also worked as a custodian and helped with Junior Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and getting together with her family.
She is survived by her husband Howard “Gene” Barnhart of Chambersburg, PA whom she married on February 20, 1960; daughters Trudy Glunt (Elwood) of Shade Gap, PA; Judy Pyne (Gregory) of Newburg, PA; grandchildren Anthony Glunt (Ellen) of Needmore, PA; Heidi Glunt-Stolte (Tanner) of Windsor, PA; Spencer Pyne (Channel Unger) of McConnellsburg, PA; great grandchildren Eli, Landry, Nathan, and Autumn Fern; twin sister Annie Tanner; sister Lorraine Yeager. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Jane, Miriam, and George.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Mike Sanders and Pastor Carl McKee officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
