Mrs. Carolyn (Jones) W. Heavner, 82, died on December 22, 2025 in Columbia, MD. Born July 4, 1943, in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of David R. Jones and Catherine M. Newcomer. She worked for The BonTon in both Chambersburg and Frederick, MD and retired after the Frederick store closed. She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. She most recently served on the Sunrise Welcoming Committee (where she lived) and liked helping new residents adjust to assisted living. She enjoyed live entertainment events, games, arts and crafts and visits with friends and family. She is survived by her sons Randall L. (Denise) Weist, Sr. of Columbia, MD and Michael T. (Tonya) Weist of Dunmor, KY, her brothers Ronald L. Jones of Dagsboro, DE, Dennis M. (Cindy) Jones of Daytona Beach, FL, her grandchildren Randall L. Weist, Jr. of St. Charles, MO, Brittany W. (Chris) Frisch of Grain Valley, MO and Austin J. (Angela) Weist of Dunmor, KY and her great-grandchildren Grace, Natalie and Haddon (Children of Austin and Angela), Olivia, Madelyn and Alice (children of Brittany and Chris) and her step-daughters Tammy Berg and Stacy Toy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo W. Heavner. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00am at Sellers Funeral Home with Rev. Mindi Gochnaur officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Carolyn’s favorite charities: The Michael J. Fox Foundation and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
