John Hamilton Cooper II, age 80, passed away on January 16, 2025 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge in Chambersburg, PA. He was born on October 12, 1944 in York Haven, PA. He was the son of John and Theda Reeser Cooper. After serving in the Navy, John retired as a machinist from Caterpillar in 1998 after 30 years and enjoyed fly fishing, amateur radio and spending time with friends and family. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Cooper after 26 years of marriage and his sister Sharon Baines. He is survived by his brother: Dennis Cooper and his wife Patricia of York, PA; children: Alecia Budesheim of Inglis, Fl, Michelle Spangler and her husband Brent of York, Pa, Tonya Shelton of York, Pa; step-children: Kathy Schirripa and her husband Giorgio of Harleysville, PA, Daniel Books of Poughkeepsie, NY; and 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg. There will be a private family memorial service. With many memories, "73" from KA3GCM as a final transmission.
