Mrs. Mildred Marie “Millie” Ballard, 88, of 154 N. Artizan St., Williamsport, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Williamsport Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Chester Linden Ballard, her husband of 58 years, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2002.
Born March 5, 1924, in Ortanna, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edward Jefferson and Anna Margaret Stultz Naugle.
She was a graduate of Fairfield (Pa.) High School.
She was employed with James Buchanan Middle School, Mercersburg.
Surviving are her children, Linley Marie Conroy and husband, Donald, of Hollidaysburg, Pa., Joy Juanita Ballard of Winchester, Kan., Linden Scott Ballard of Clear Spring, Faith Marie Glick of Lake Anna, Va.; as well as grandchildren, Kevin D. Conroy and Joseph K. Conroy and wife, Kari; great-grandchildren, Rebecca M., Matthew R. and Katherine M. Conroy; and her sister, Marguerite Wert of Elizabethtown, Pa.
Besides her husband and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by five sisters and seven brothers.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. Pastor Len Smith will officiate. Private interment will be at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
