May Fetterhoff Newlin, 84, of 9136 Cool Hollow Road, Hagerstown, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born July 20, 1926, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Mary Jane Eichel Fetterhoff.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Leon Newlin, who died February 21, 2002.

Mrs. Newlin was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are daughters Deborah A. Price and husband Larry, and Annette M. Elliott, all of Hagerstown; grandchildren Thomas J., Alexis M. and Izak L. Elliott.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Howe, Margaret Sleicher, and Paul and Chalmers Fetterhoff.

There will not be calling at the funeral home.


A private graveside service will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Newlin’s name to the Community Free Clinic, 249 Mill Street, Hagerstown, Maryland
