Mrs. Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Rogers, 84, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday afternoon, January 17, 2018, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Donald Lee Rogers, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2000.
Born October 30, 1933, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George Eli and Margaret Dean Burgan Wade.
Jackie retired on February 16, 1991 having worked with C&P Telephone Company, Bell Atlantic and Verizon. Consequently she was a life member of Communications Workers of America and Telephone Pioneers of America.
After retiring, Jackie worked with The Maryland Theatre, and the Washington County Historical Society, both of Hagerstown.
Previously, Mrs. Rogers had resided at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williampsort.
She was formerly a member of Gateway Church, Williamsport, and First Brethren Church, Hagerstown.
Surviving are her children, Susan E. Stine of Hagerstown, John R. Rogers of Palm Desert, California, Steven L. Rogers of Trappe, and David B. Rogers, also of Palm Desert; ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; as well as her brother John H. Wade of Frederick.
Besides her husband and parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna M. Repp.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Tuesday, January 23, from 12:00 PM until the service beings at 1:00 PM. Rev. Raymond J. Barger, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
