Mary Ellen Smith, 75, formerly of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, December 19th 2024 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Maryland with loved ones by her side.
Born March 24, 1949 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Mary Helena (Hardman) Foose and Norman L Foose.
She is survived by her brother Gordon Foose; children Darlene Judy, John Smith, and Michelle Smith; four grandchildren, Charlene Hutchins, Melissa Smith, Kyle Smith, and Tifeni Judy; seven great-grandchildren, Kyler and Mckenah Hutchins, Isiah and Letty Murdorf, Oakley and Hudsyn Monn-Judy, and Jack Smith.
In addition to her mother and father, Mary was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ida Jean Foose; daughter Tina Flagle; grandson Vernon Tyler Judy; and niece, Sarah Foose.
Mary loved movies and television with a particular love for Disney films, MASH, and Bonanza, and enjoyed crafts, word searches, and bingo, more so than anything else Mary was a dog lover. As such her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Waynesboro.
